Instructions for installation of MicroSD card

(Garmin GPSMap 76/78Csx)

To install the supplied MicroSD card in your Garmin 76/78Csx, you will need to remove the battery

cover from the GPSr as explained in your user manual.

The MicroSD slot can be seen in the picture below. The MicroSD card is inserted directly into the

socket and will only go in one way. Once correctly inserted the card will stay in place. It should

click when in place.

If in doubt, please see the instruction manual for your model. Be careful not to damage the

MicroSD socket. It will slide in easily, and should not be forced.

Once installed correctly, replace the batteries and battery cover and then turn it on. The maps should

automatically load.

Only do the next steps if the maps do not show.

Page 2 GARMIN folder and the contents [the mapset file(s)] in the folder, then simply disconnect the GPSMap 76Csx in the usual way. When it is next switched on, the new map should load as standard (assuming that you are within coverage of the chosen mapset) otherwise you will be shown the unit supplied basemap or other installed mapsets for the local area which you may have purchased elsewhere (such as TOPO GB or TOPO 24K).
