FUNCTION OF CONTROLS
AND
CONNECTORS
*
GOrSiNG
Selects the
omplitude
point
on
the
trigger-
.iVsl
ing
signol
where
sweep-triggering
occurs.
5"-3'UTY
Adjusts the oscilloscope
for
a
stoble
dis-
played waveform.
The
STABILITY
control
can bo
set
to
the
PRESET
position
end
left
there. This
position
provides
for
con-
venient triggering
since
only
the
TRIGGER-
ING
LEVEL
control
needs
to
be
odjusled
to
obtain
a
stable disploy.
GGERING
AUTO;
Permits
normoi
triggering
on
smiple
vOGE
waveforms
with
repetition
rates
higher
than
about
50
cps.
With no
trigger
signoi,
or
with
0
lower
repetition
rote,
the
trigger
circuit
free
runs at
approximotely
AO
cps
and
triggers
the time
bose
of
this
rote,
pro-
providing a reference
trace.
AC
LF R£J;
Atfenuofes
trigger-signal
fre-
quencies
below about 17
kc,
allowing
the
trigger
circuit
to
respond
only
to
higher
frequencies.
AC;
Blocks the
dc component
of the
trig-
gering
signal or^d
allows
triggering
to toke
place only
on
the
chonglng
portion of the
signal.
With
frequencies
below
obout
30
cps,
use the
DC
position.
For
best
triggering
of
high
frequencies,
use
an
ac
coupling
position of die
TRIG-
GERING
MODE
switch.
DC:
Permits triggering
on
both
high-
and
low-frequency
{to
dc)
signals.
TRIGGER SLOPE
Determines whether
the time

is
trig-
gered
on

trigger.
INT;
Uses

portion of the signol
opplied
to
the
vorticol
deflection
plates
of
the
erf
as
a
trigger
signal.
EXT:
Provides
externol
triggering
on
o
signal
applied
to
the
TRIGGER INPUT
connector.
TiME/CM
Selects
the
fime-bosc
