SAFETY INSTRUCTION Safety against fumes and welding gases The HSE have iden琀椀昀椀ed welders as being an ‘at risk’ group for occupa琀椀onal diseases arising from exposure to dusts, gases, vapours and welding fumes. The main iden琀椀昀椀ed health e昀昀ects are pneumonia, asthma, chronic obstruc琀椀ve pulmonary disease (COPD), lung and kidney cancer, metal fume fever (MFF) and lung func琀椀on changes.
