NOTE Your Durastar air conditioner's outdoor unit is equipped with a base pan heater, allowing it to continue to operate at freezing temperatures as low as -22°F (-30°C). If there is no pre-existing refrigerant piping, when choosing a location, leave ample room for a wall hole (see Step 3: Drill Wall Hole for Connective Piping) for the signal cable and refrigerant piping that connect the indoor and outdoor units. DURASTAR.COM...
STEP 2: CONFIGURE THE UNIT All units except for the DRADL0612F2A come with an internal pump. See instructions below for installing the external pump on the DRADL0612F2A if necessary. In addition, this unit can be converted for vertical wall mount installation. Use the following steps to rotate the pump and (if necessary) change the air inlet position.

INSTALLING THE EXTERNAL PUMP ON THE DRADL0612F2A: 1. Cut the rubber hose provided to the proper size and use it to connect the drain pipe on the unit (Pipe A) to the pump port inlet port. 2. Attach the pump to the unit.

Unplug the “PUMP” pin CN13 Short connect the “CN5” For units with an external pump (DRADL0612F2A and DRADL18F2A): 1. The pump does not work in the vertical configuration. Remove the pump, unplug CN13 and CN5 from the board and use the jumper provided to short the water sensor plug CN5.

5. Pass the drain pipe through the wall hole to the outside. The end of the pipe should be at least 2" (50mm) above the ground. If it touches the ground, the pipe may become blocked. Make sure the water drains to a safe location where it will not cause water damage or a slipping hazard. DURASTAR.COM...
