Shanling CR60 Manual

Powering the CR60

CR60 can be powered by a simple USB charger.
Make sure the charger can provide stable 5V/2A.
We recommend to use a reliable charger from a well-proven company (Anker & UGREEN are our recommendations)

CD Ripping to Computer

(compatible with Windows and Mac OS)

Make sure CR60 is set to Ripping mode (switch on the rear of the device).
Connect CR60 to your computer using USB-B port.
Press the Mode button to switch CR60 to USB-B output.
Insert CD into CR60.
After short time your computer should recognize CR60 and display it as a new drive, named "Audio".
Open the "Audio" drive, in there you will find all tracks from the CD. Simply copy them to any folder on your computer. This will start the ripping process.
Wait for the CR60 to rip the CD. This will take a few minutes. Please do not operate CR60 during this process.
Now CD ripping is finished and all track were exported to your computer as. WAV files.

CD Ripping to USB Drive

Make sure CR60 is set to Ripping mode (switch on the rear of the device).
Insert USB Drive into the USB-A port on the CR60
Press the Mode button to switch CR60 to USB-A output.
Insert CD into CR60.
CR60 will automatically start ripping CD onto the USB Drive. The screen will display progress as it rips all the tracks.
Wait for the CR60 to rip the CD. This will take a few minutes. Please do not operate CR60 during this process.
When completed, you can remove the CD.
Ripped files are now stored as.wav files on the USB Drive, located in folder "CR_RipperX"

If you wish to rip next CD, simply insert the CD into the CR60 and ripping will start again automatically. Files ripped from different CDs will be separated into numbered folders for each disc, named "CD_Ripper1", "CD_Ripper2", etc.

Managing the Files

When ripping CDs to computer or USB Drive, final files are in. WAV format and without tags. We recommend following steps to manage your files:

Convert the files into. FLAC format
Tag the files

Converting files to. FLAC will assure wide compatibility with playback and tagging software. There are many apps for Windows and Mac that offer file conversion, most popular music playback software also have it included. Our often used app is the free MediaHuman Audio converter.

For file tagging, we recommend using dedicated music tagging software, which can automatically identify your ripped albums and download needed tags. Two favourites of ours are MusicBranz Picard and mp3Tag .

CD Ripping to Android Phone

Please install Eddict Player app on your phone: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shanling.eddictplayer

(Version 2.2.4 or higher needed for use with CR60)

warning Please Note: Certain Android phones might not be compatible with CR60.

Make sure CR60 is set to Ripping mode (switch on the rear of the device).
Connect CR60 to your phone using USB-C port and USB C-to-C Data cable.
Press the Mode button to switch CR60 to USB-C output.
Insert CD into CR60.
Open the Eddict Player app. In there, open its side menu and start the CD Ripping function.
It might ask you to provide app with permission to access local files. This is needed for the app to save the newly created files. Please allow this permission.
It will then ask for the app to access "Sunext USB2.0", please confirm this.
Now the app will try to recognize the CD and download its tags, please wait.
If successfully found, app will present you with the found matching albums, you can preview their content to check. Tap on the matching album and then tap "Confirm". (In most cases there is just one matching album, but with some CDs it can report multiple matching albums)
On "Album" tab, you can:
- Add album art (Either using camera or picking from already saved files)
- Adjust Album tag
- Adjust Artist tag
- Adjust Genre tag
- Adjust Year Tag
On "Audio Track" tab, you can adjust title of each track.
On "Setup" tab, you can adjust Storage Path between Internal Memory and MicroSD card (If supported on the phone) and choose between WAV and FLAC format for ripped files.
When all adjustments are finished, tap on the "Start Ripping" button. It takes about 10 minutes to rip one CD, please stay in the Eddict Player and with screen on, otherwise ripping might get paused.
When "Ripping complete" message appears, all is done and your files are stored in the displayed folder (By default, "Ripper" folder located in main memory of your phone).
