Heating the Appliance

Plug the appliance into the mains. To switch the appliance on, push the switch and adjust the Temperature Control to the number that corresponds to the heating level desired. The indicator light will glow red to indicate that the appliance is in use. Do not, under any circumstances, leave the appliance unattended when switched on. To turn the appliance off, push the switch, the indicator light will turn off and unplug the appliance.

For first use it is recommended that you start with the lowest heat setting and gradually increase temperature to find a suitable level. Only use as much heat as you need for effective styling. Fine hair will require a low heat setting and thicker, less manageable hair will usually require a medium-high heat setting. For best results, follow the guidelines below:

Heat Selection Hair Type
140ºC - 165ºC For fine, thin hair
165ºC - 195ºC For normal, medium-textured hair
195ºC - 220ºC For wavy, thick, coarse hair

Styling

Separate a one-inch section of hair, use the clamp to secure hair to the barrel and roll hair around the barrel to the root. Pause, unroll and release hair from the clamp. Allow hair to cool before styling. For soft body and extra volume, style with a comb or brush. For sculpted curls simply shake head allowing curls to fall together, separating curls with fingers where required.

Cleaning

Always unplug the appliance from the mains after use and allow it to cool before cleaning. To clean, wipe the tong and barrel with a damp cloth. Ensure the appliance is completely dry before use and that heated surfaces on the unit are free of dust, dirt, styling sprays and gels.

Storage

Always unplug when not in use - Allow the appliance to cool before storing. Always store in a dry location. Do not pull or twist the cord. Do not wrap the cord around the appliance, as this may cause the cord to wear prematurely and break. Regularly check the power cord for wear and damage (particularly where it enters the appliance and the plug).
