To change the battery in the Altec Lansing T612 remote, follow these steps:

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote.
2. Open the compartment to access the battery.
3. Remove the old battery.
4. Insert a new battery, ensuring the correct polarity.
5. Close the battery compartment securely.

Altec Lansing ships the remote battery separately to prevent power drain, so you will need to install it before first use.

My T612 will play my iPod but will not power it. On a full charge the iPod runs for two minutes on a song and then gives a message "connect to power". It always worked but when I turned it on after year of sitting idle it now won't send power to the iPod. Please advise if you can repair it.

The Altec Lansing T612 is designed to provide power and audio support to compatible iPods through its docking station. However, whether it can be repaired to restore power functionality depends on the specific issue. If the problem is with the power adapter, a compatible replacement adapter (such as the LKPower AC/DC adapter) may resolve it. If the issue is internal, such as a damaged circuit or connector, professional repair may be required.
