Setup

How do I install AnkerWork C310 Webcam?

 Option A: Mounting on a Computer Monitor or Laptop
Unfold the clip so it fits over the top of your monitor or laptop screen. For a secure fit, adjust the clip by pressing it against the back of your device. Move the webcam up or down to find an optional framing position.
Option B: Mounting on a Tripod
With the clip folded in, mount the webcam onto a tripod with a ¼ inch thread (not included).

How do I set up AnkerWork C310 Webcam?
  1. Connect to a Computer
  • Plug the USB-C connector from the included USB-C cable into the USB-C port on the webcam.
  • Plug the USB-A connector into an available port on your computer. If there is no USB-A port on your computer, you need to use a USB-A to USB-C adapter (not included, please contact AnkerWork Customer service to get a free one if needed) to make the connection.
  1. Select the Webcam
    Go to the settings of the connected device and software, and then select AnkerWork C310 Webcam as the camera and microphone inputs.
    Note: The LED will only light up when the privacy cover is open and the webcam is being used by the software.

Can I connect multiple AnkerWork C310 Webcams to my computer at the same time?

 Yes.
USB 3.0 Cable

Why don't I have a 4K resolution option when I use a USB 2.0 data cable or hub?

 AnkerWork C310 Webcam comes with a USB-A to USB-C 3.0 data cable. Because the real-time data transmission of 4K resolution exceeds the range supported by 2.0 data cables or hubs, it cannot support 4K resolution. Please use the standard data cable or a USB 3.0 or higher data cable.

Why don't I have a lossless mode option when I use a USB 2.0 data cable or hub?

 AnkerWork C310 Webcam comes with a USB-A to USB-C 3.0 data cable. Because the real-time data transmission of 4K resolution exceeds the range supported by 2.0 data cables or hubs, it cannot support 4K resolution. Please use the standard data cable or a USB 3.0 or higher data cable.

My computer doesn't have a USB-A port, so I can't use the included USB-A to C cable, what should I do?

 If you have this problem, you can simply use a USB-C to C 3.0 data cable or a USB-A to C 3.0 adapter. You can also contact our customer service and we will provide you with a USB-A to C 3.0 adapter.
AI Focus

What's the difference between face focus and auto focus?

 Face focus focuses on the clarity of the face, while auto focus focuses on the frontmost item or person. The specific explanation is as follows:
  1. Face focus is an AI mode that automatically detects faces in the picture and focuses on them to ensure the clarity of the face, and ignores other background elements.
  2. Auto focus automatically adjusts the lens's focal length to clearly capture the target image. The focus is on the frontmost item or person, not just on the face.

After I turned off auto focus, a manual focus function for adjusting the focal length appeared. When should I use manual focus?
  1. Auto focus may have difficulty in darker or lower contrast environments. In these situations, manual focus may have better results.
  2. In some cases, when shooting still life with rich details, manual focus can provide more precise focus control to ensure that the parts you want to highlight are clearly displayed. Although manual focus requires more skill and practice to get right, it provides greater control and freedom.

What is FACE AE(face exposure)?

 When the FACE AE feature is turned on, the camera will recognize whether the brightness of the face has reached the corresponding brightness value. If not, it will automatically brighten the face.
AI Exposure

Why does the brightness of the picture automatically change?

 AnkerWork C310 Webcam comes with automatic face exposure technology(FACE AE). It is a technology that automatically adjusts exposure parameters during video to achieve good face brightness. Its main functions include:
  1. Image quality optimization: By automatically adjusting exposure, face brightness in pictures or videos can be increased, avoiding overexposure or underexposure.
  2. User experience enhancement: Automatic face exposure technology can help you more easily output better brightness, enhance your user experience, and avoid complicated brightness debugging work.
    Note: Because face exposure technology focuses on the face, person moving may cause changes in brightness.

What is exposure smoothing?

 This is a regional exposure feature. By moving the yellow check box on the screen, the area metering will adjust the global exposure based on the average brightness of the selected area.
HDR

What is HDR?

 HDR, short for High Dynamic Range, is mainly used in scenarios with high brightness contrast and large light ratio, such as when strong sunlight is shining from the window behind you, or when there is a bright light shining from behind you. It can help capture more details of light and shadow in the picture, reduce the occurrence of overexposure or underexposure, and enhance the details of light and shadow of the main body of the picture to deliver better picture quality in high contrast scenarios.
Note: Using HDR mode may cause changes in brightness and color of the picture.

What resolutions does HDR support?

 The HDR function of AnkerWork C310 Webcam supports up to 1080p@60fps.

How can I turn on HDR?

 You need to download the AnkerWork software to change settings.

AnkerWork C310 Webcam supports 4K, so why I can't I get a 4K picture?

 This is a common issue with webcams, and may be caused by the following factors:
  1. The performance and specifications of your computer, as well as the the maxmium supported resolution of the computer's camera may prevent the output resolution of AnkerWork C310 Webcam from reaching 4K.
  2. The limitations of third-party software. For example, the maximum resolution for Zoom is 720p and 360p for Microsoft Teams. Therefore, AnkerWork C310 will only display image quality in 720p and 360p, respectively, despite it being capable of supporting up to 4K resolution.
    Note: To get better image quality on Zoom, we recommend selecting "HD Quality" by following these steps: Click on the drop-down menu next to "Stop Video", then go to Video Settings > My Videos > Select "HD Quality".

Why does C310 support 4K, but I can't select 4K mode?

 To get 4K quality, the following conditions must be met:
  1. You must use a USB 3.0 cable.
  2. When the USB 3.0 cable is connected to the computer, it needs to be connected quickly, otherwise it will be mistaken by the computer as a 2.0 cable (this is a recognized problem caused by the internal pin design of the USB 3.0 cable).
  3. 60fps, Lossless, and HDR modes are not supported in 4K.

Why does my screen stutter and have smoothness issues when I turn on 4K?

 Screen stuttering when turning on 4K resolution may be caused by the following:
  1. Insufficient graphics card performance: 4K resolution requires higher graphics processing capabilities. If your graphics card performance is insufficient, you may not be able to run 4K resolution smoothly.
  2. Insufficient memory: 4K resolution requires more memory to store image data. If your computer memory is insufficient, it may also cause stuttering.
    You can try switching to different frame rates, such as choosing 4K@20FPS, which can help to improve screen smoothness in situations where computer performance is insufficient.
Microphone

Why is it that only my voice is transmitted to the other party, but some other ambient sounds are not heard by them?

 C310's AI Noise Reduction feature is enabled by default, so some sounds will be filtered out to ensure that your voice can be heard easily by the other party. You can disable AI Noise Reduction in the AnkerWork software.

How do I improve the microphone's vocal pickup on my AnkerWork C310 Webcam?

 Speaking within 3m of the webcam and regularly updating the firmware can help to Improve your microphone's vocal pickup. You can also select the angle of the device microphone pickup to reduce background noise outside that range and to ensure better vocals.

Can I still use AnkerWork C310 Webcam's microphones when the privacy cover is on?

 Yes, the microphones can still be used when the privacy cover is on.

What can I do with the AnkerWork software?
  1. Update the webcam's firmware by going to Firmware Info > Check for Updates.
  2. View the webcam's FAQs and get in contact with technical support by clicking the question mark.
  3. Go to Device Settings to customize image, video, and microphone settings.

What is the purpose of the minimized toolbar?

 You can use the minimized toolbar in the AnkerWork software to quickly adjust image and audio settings in real-time during meetings and livestreams.
Note:
  1. Due to system limitations, Windows does not support dual-stream output.
  2. You can find the icon for the minimized toolbar in the upper right corner of the software.
