Setting up your massage chair is easy to do. Your massage chair is almost completely assembled. After carefully removing all the contents from the packaging, inspect the chair and its components to make sure everything has been received.
Components:
NOTE: If the back does not appear even or the chair does not recline easily, then you may have engaged the latches on only one side. To correct this you will need to release the back as noted below and begin Step 2 again.
To remove the chair back from the seat:
It is important to choose a location that will allow you to best enjoy the chair's benefits. The following is required for the massage chair:
In addition, we would suggest you consider the following for your massage chair location:
Once you have selected the location for your chair, you can easily move it with the convenient wheels located on the rear of the chair (Fig. 7).
Figure 7
To move your chair, stand behind the chair and tilt it backwards until the wheels are engaged. Then simply push your chair to the location you want. When you are lowering the front of the chair in the spot you want it, be careful not to drop it too hard or fast, as it may cause damage to your floors.
The eLounger massage chair has a master power switch that must be in the "on" position in order to work. Once you have plugged the chair power cord into the electrical outlet, turn on the master power switch located on the back of the chair (Fig. 8). Within the control panel, the green "e" in eLounger and the red LED below it will illuminate to confirm that the chair has power.
Figure 8
You can adjust the backrest angle to recline up to approximately 160 degrees. Reclining the backrest increases the intensity of the massage, and also repositions the body so that the massage range along your back and neck is changed. Typically, the further you recline, the further the massage will reach in the shoulder and neck area.
To recline the backrest using the manual control, lift the lever on the right side of the chair seat (Fig. 3) and lean back.
When you are in the desired position, release the lever.
When you are ready to raise the backrest, pull the lever up again and lean forward. The hydraulic gas system will raise the backrest for you.
NOTE: In order to avoid strain and potential injury to your back, never attempt to get in or out of the massage chair with the backrest reclined.
There are two adjustable cushions that are included with your chair: the backrest softening pad and the lumbar/ headrest pillow.
Your massage chair comes with a backrest softening pad. It is recommended that you have this softening pad installed for the most comfort while just sitting in the chair. In addition, it is recommended that you use the softening pad while getting a massage until your body is "used to" the intensity of the massage. Once you are comfortable with it, you may want to increase the intensity of the massage by removing the softening pad. This will allow you to experience a deeper, massage.
To install the softening pad:
The lumbar/headrest pillow is provided for customized comfort. You may adjust its location to fit your needs. For example, you can support your head and neck or your lumbar area.
You may add additional cushioning to the chair with your own pillows. Keep in mind that the more cushioning you add, the less you will be able to feel the massage.
As an added convenience feature, the eLounger includes a cup holder in the right armrest that will hold many types of containers. To help maintain cleanliness, there is a removable insert. A soft, damp cloth is recommended for cleaning.
Please see an additional information on care and use for the eLounger.
The green LED in the "e" in eLounger will be illuminated when the unit has power. Unlike the Ready Light, it does not change with any function, but simply indicates that the recliner has power.
This LED will be illuminated when the unit has power and is available for use but is not currently active (it has power but is currently stopped). You may press and activate any of the program or manual massage function buttons. Once a massage function is activated, the Ready Light will no longer be illuminated, but the LED corresponding to the active massage function will instead be illuminated.
NOTE: the Ready Light will blink when the Stop function has been pressed and the mechanism is parking and is not available for use.
Press this button to stop the massage action. This will also cause the unit to "park" or return to its highest position. While the mechanism is parking, the red LED in the Ready Light will blink. Once it has parked, the Ready Light will return to solid red, indicating the unit is once again ready for use.
NOTE: Once turned off, do not attempt to turn the massage system back on until the massage has been fully disengaged (stopped at the top of the backrest) and the Ready Light is no longer blinking.
The programmed massage options have been designed to closely emulate an actual massage session by combining different massage functions in various sequences. Each session, with the exception of the brief Demo program, lasts approximately 15 minutes and is designed to deliver a massage that meets your specific need.
To activate a massage program, check that power is turned on and simply press the desired program button. The corresponding LED will illuminate to confirm your selection.
Designed to cover the full range of the eLounger's motion with a combination of all functions.
This session focuses on the upper back area with a combination of functions.
NOTE: Prior to the massage, make sure to adjust the position of the backrest to ensure shoulder massage is being done on area and the intensity you need.
This massage session focuses on the lower back area with a combination of functions.
NOTE: Prior to the massage, make sure to adjust the position of the backrest to ensure lower back massage is being done on area and the intensity you need.
The demonstration button is an approximately 3 minute program to give you a quick idea of how the eLounger functions feel and to familiarize yourself with the chair. You might also find that this short program is great for when you don't have a lot of time.
The massage programs provided will usually meet your needs, and are the easiest way to enjoy your massage chair. However, there may be times when you want to customize the type and length of a massage using the manual control functions. The manual controls allow you to:
To activate a manual massage function, check that power is turned on and simply press the desired function button. The corresponding LED will illuminate to confirm your selection.
Rolling moves the rollers along the side of the back, gently massaging with a pressing motion up and down the full length of the back.
Kneading combines a circular motion while moving up and down the back.
Tapping combines a rapid back and forth tapping along the back while moving up and down the full length of the back.
Kneading+Tapping combines the circular motion of Kneading with Tapping while moving up and down the back.
These functions are available when one of the Manual Massage Functions is active. To activate one of these functions, simply press the desired button while in a manual massage function. The corresponding LED will illuminate to confirm your selection.

NOTE: By definition, Rolling, which moves up and down, is not available in Spot. However, Rolling can be focused to a specific area with the Partial function. See below.
A partial range version of all the manual massage functions, which can be adjusted up and down with the Up/Down controls. Partial stops the massage action in the location in which it was pressed and then works approximately a 4" range up and down.
Available with: Rolling, Kneading, Tapping, and Kneading+Tapping.
Available with the Spot and Partial functions, the Up/Down button adjusts the location of the massage to a specific position along the back. To move the massage location up or down, press and hold the respective button until you have reached the desired location. When you release the button, the massage location will be set.
Available with: Spot and Partial Massage

Available with: Tapping and Kneading+Tapping
Adjusts the location of the massage rollers in Rolling and Tapping with 3 setting options. Width control allows you to change the position of the massage rollers so that you can customize the massage. The LED light indicates the width setting. To adjust the width of the massage rollers, simply press the button. Repeat until you have reached the desired setting.
Available with: Rolling and Tapping
The eLounger has been designed for convenience and safety. As a special precaution against falling asleep while using the unit or leaving the unit on while it is still in operation, we've programmed it to automatically shut off after 20 minutes. This special feature should not be considered as a substitute for OFF. Always remember to turn your unit off when not in use.
NOTE: If you do not use the eLounger for a period of time (for instance, while you are away on vacation) it is recommended that you turn off the master power switch and unplug the chair.

This product must be grounded. If it should malfunction or breakdown, grounding provides a path of least resistance for the electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This product is equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock.
Check with a qualified electrician or serviceman if you are in doubt as to whether the product is properly grounded. Do not modify the plug provided with the product - if it will not fit the outlet, you may temporarily use an adaptor (such as the one shown in Figure B) until you have a proper outlet (such as the one shown in Figure C) installed by a qualified electrician.
