Mower Installation
Mower Installation
To install your mower on your tractor, proceed
as follows:
1. Turn the front tractor wheels to the left as
far as they go. (For easier installation, place
the tractor on a smooth, hard surface, such
as concrete.)
2. Slide the mower under the tractor from the
right side, and align the mower hitch arms
with the rear holes in the tractor front axle
mounting points (see figure 1).
3. Attach the mower hitch arms to the tractor
through the rear holes on the front axle with
two pins and locking clips provided (figure 1.)
Install the pins from the outside.
4. With the mower clutch disengaged, slip the
drive belt onto the lower engine pulley.
5. Adjust the belt stop on the tractor so that
there is 1/16 inch clearance between belt and
belt stop when the mower clutch is engaged
(see figure 1).

7. Attach lift cable from mower deck to lift lever
(models 4108 and 4208) with flat washer and
spring clip (see figure 3.)
Figure 2. Attaching Interlock Switch Wire
6. Disconnect wire connector from bypass termi¬
nal (under seat deck, see figure 6), and attach
wire connector to mower safety interlock
switch (figure 2).
WARNING
Do not operate the tractor with the mower
unless the wire connector is properly installed
on the mower safety interlock switch.
Mower Idler Arm Belt Stop Adjustment
The mower idler arm belt stop should be 1/8 inch
from the mower belt when the mower clutch is
engaged (see figure 4). If it is not, loosen the lock¬
nut holding on the belt stop and move the belt
stop until the 1/8 inch clearance is reached. Then
retighten the locknut while holding the belt stop
to keep it from moving.
