Connection to a Wyse55 VDU and Setup
Connect the QS6000 scanner to your system using the approved PSC QS6000 I/F cable
supplied with the device
WARNING
Connection using an unapproved cable can result in damage to the scanner. The
QS6000 cable can be identified by the overmolding present at the base of the connector
(reference the figure below)
To disconnect the I/F cable at the scanner, insert a bent paper clip or 0.050" hex driver
into the opening marked CABLE RELEASE as shown in the figure below, and push
inward. Once the connector latch is released, continue to hold in on the latch while
carefully pulling the cable free
Connect the Interface (I/F) cable to the scanner
Connect the 'Y' cable (EDP Cable Type BY2) to the Aux Port on the Wyse-55 and to the
Scanner I/F cable. Connect the 'Y' cable to the cashdrawer if required
Connect the power cord at the I/F connector
Connect the AC/DC adapter at the wall outlet and power on
Verify operation by pointing at a flat surface & pull the trigger. A red targeting beam
should be visible. Scan a sample label and confirm that the scanner reads the label by
beeping

On the Wyse-55 VDU program 2 function keys (as per FECO WYSE# 6/2) with the
following: -
<Esc> d% (to turn bi-directional on)
<Esc> d$ (to turn bi-directional off)
Use <Enter> to toggle the direction to LOCAL
Make sure ENHANCE is set to ON in the General setups
