Preparing the lancing device and monitor Inserting the lancet Unscrew cap from lancing device. Insert lancet into lancing device. Hold lancet by shaft and unscrew safety shield. Retain safety shield Place cap on lancing device and screw on tightly. Turn cap until arrow shows desired penetration depth. Withdraw clamping device until it snaps into place.

Take a blood sample Lancing Position the lancing device firmly and slightly o -centre on the fingerprint. Press trigger button. The drop of blood obtained must be: • in the form of a drop and must not be smeared • at least 1.4 mm in size (original size ).

Apply blood to test strip Hold the blood absorption slot of the test strip to the drop of blood until the slot is completely full and a beep sounds. Wait approximately 5 seconds until the measured blood glucose value is shown on the display.
