    Please note: For optimum performance we recommend that you pass the entire volume of your pond through the UltraUV Pro unit once every 2 to 3 hours. We do not recommend the use of pumps with operating pressures in excess of 36 PSI.

    POSITIONING AND MOUNTING THE UV: POSITIONING THE UV: If you are going to position your UltraUV Pro outside or in an area where it is likely to get splashed regularly with water, then you must mount the unit horizontally. If your UltraUV Pro will be positioned in a permanently dry environment, then it can be installed in any position.

    CONNECTION WITH FLEXIBLE TUBING (15W, 25W & 55W ONLY) The UltraUV Pro is supplied with two universal step down fittings to accept 1/2", 3/4", 1”, 1¼”, and 1½” diameter flexible tubing. Cut step down fittings to the largest connection that will work with your plumbing to ensure sufficient water flow.

    INSTALLING A BALL VALVE TO THE INLET AND OUTLET: Installing a ball valve on the inlet and outlet of the UltraUV Pro can make maintenance easier, especially if the unit is used on a gravity fed system (ball valves and adapters not included).

    All electrical installations and wiring must be adequately protected to prevent any damage. The UltraUV Pro must be connected to a permanently installed receptacle. The unit should not be plugged into an extension cord, as this will void the manufacturer's warranty.

    It is not necessary to stop the water circulating through the UV to change the bulb; however, we recommend turning off the pump temporarily during replacement as a precaution. 1. Unplug the UltraUV Pro from the main power supply. 2. Loosen the gland nut slightly.

    TRANSFORMER REPLACEMENT: The UltraUV Pro transformer can be easily replaced in the event of any electrical issues. This comes complete with the transformer, bulb connectors, end caps and power cable. Refer to pages 4-6 for proper replacement transformer item numbers.

  • Page 20: Thermal Protection

    THERMAL PROTECTION: The UltraUV Pro pond clarifiers have thermal overload protection which automatically shuts down and then enables a fast re-start when the problem has been cleared. This may be the result of water in the end caps. Please see the troubleshooting section on page 21.

    HOW LONG AFTER I INSTALL THE UNIT WILL MY POND BECOME CLEAR? There are many factors which affect how long your UltraUV Pro will take to clear your pond, such as the levels of nutrients available to the algae, the water temperature and the level of sunlight.
  • Page 23 Ensure your pond filtration is removing fish waste and debris efficiently. Dirt in ponds will affect the efficiency of the UltraUV Pro. Check that your pond water volume is circulating through the UltraUV Pro every 2 to 3 hours.

    PRODUCT WARRANTY: UltraUV Pro Pond Clarifiers carry a 3-year warranty. The Pond Guy® will repair or replace any units found to be defective. This limited warranty is extended exclusively to the original purchaser and begins from the date of original purchase receipt. The UV bulb and quartz sleeve are wear items and are not covered by this warranty.
