  • Page 20: Chimney And Exhaust Pipe

6.3 Chimney and exhaust pipe: Suitable chimney The Walltherm Air must be connected to a suitable chimney to the wood gasifier operation (lower flame) to work by means of natural draft. Chimney The vertical chimney section (effective height) above the Walltherm® Air should be at least 4.5 meters long.
  • Page 21  Multiple chimney occupancy Multiple occupancy is permitted, but a positive chimney calculation must be available and the approval of the chimney sweep must be obtained. In any case, it must be possible to close the supply air to both stoves, so that no false air can flow into the chimney system if only one of the stoves is heated.

  • Page 34  If the gasification flame goes out after some time (or becomes smaller), you must open the exhaust fume flap again to heat up the chimney system more and produce more embers. Maybe the wood needs to be adjusted with the fire poker (avoid hollow spaces).
  • Page 35 Fume flap in the middle position: In the middle position, the fume flap (8) remains slightly open and the fire burns in both the upper and lower combustion chambers.  This position is only recommended in exceptional cases, e.g. in low-pressure weather, if the chimney draught is not sufficient.

By turning the wing nuts in the middle of both the covers (7) to the left, the flue dampers reduce the draught in the stove and the exhaust gas temperature is reduced. By turning the wing nut on the cover (7) to the right, the flue dampers increase the draught in the stove and the exhaust gas temperature rises.
