PRODUCT OVERVIEW The Pullswitch is a fail-safe taut wire emergency pull cord safety stop switch for open conveyors. PVC coated steel pull wire and pigtails connect between the switches to provide easy installation and continuous emergency stop access along the length of the entire conveyor. -

For double sided installations, 4B recommends mirroring Pullswitch installations on both sides of the conveyor. STANDARD WIRING DIAGRAM All wiring must be In accordance with local and national electrical codes and should be undertaken by an experienced and qualified electrician. Always use dust/liquid tight flexible metal conduit with approved fittings to protect the sensor cables. Use rigid metal conduit to protect the cables from the sensors to the control unit. -

Fit pull wire and support guides (pigtails or eyebolts) along the length of the system. Detailed configuration diagrams can be found on pages 8 - 9. For double sided installations, 4B recommends mirroring the installation on both sides of the conveyor. -

Reset the system by turning the lockout knob counterclockwise to its original position. If the system does not reset, then check the tension of the cable. 4B recommends inspecting and testing the operation of the system at regular intervals. WARNING... -

APPENDIX 1 PILZ SAFETY RELAYS PNOZ X2.7P and PNOZ X2.8P Introduction Pilz safety relays type PNOZ X2.7P and PNOZ X2.8P are designed for use in emergency stop circuits. These relays comply with BSEN 60204-1, and when used in conjunction with the Pullkeys described in this manual, meet the requirements of BSEN 418 and BSEN 954-1 (Category 2 or Category 3). - Page 18 Installation The Pilz safety relays described in the manual must be installed by a competent electrician or a person trained and instructed who is familiar with the appropriate legislation for controlling machines. Familiarity with the Health and Safety at Work Act and local regulations are required.

- Page 23 Operation When the Pullkeys are reset with the switch contacts closed and the Reset button pressed (if fitted), relays K1 and K2 energise. Indicators CH 1 and CH 2 will glow and the three sets of safety contacts 13-14; 23-24 and 33-34 close, and the auxiliary contact 41-42 opens. In the case of relay type PNOZ X2.7P, a delay of 300 ms must elapse before the reset switch becomes active.
