This can cause deformation of the enclosures or damage to internal components. • Repairs may only be undertaken by the manufacturer. • The Stoneridge-Orlaco camera systems must be assembled as shown in this manual. Before you start using the Stoneridge-Orlaco camera systems, please read this manual carefully and follow all instructions.

1. System Mounting Instructions Correct installation of the system is very important to ensure R46 compliant performance of the MirrorEye Peregrine MP Bus system. Figure 1 presents the dimensions that are relevant for the mounting locations of the cameras and monitors. The following chapter will further describe the mounting options and limitations. Figure 1...
1.1. Camera Mounting Instructions Figure 2 and Figure 4 depict the allowed mounting range of the left-hand side and right-hand side cameras in relation to the widest point of the vehicle body, ground plane and ocular reference point (ORP). The camera lens entrance pupil shall fall within the specified bounding box. Those mounting instructions are valid for both right hand drive, as well as left hand drive vehicles.
1.1.2. Bounding box option 2 – Optimized for Both Class II and Class IV When choosing to certify both the class II and the class IV view, then the mounting range as specified in Figure 4 ensures that the system presents both views to the driver with R46 compliance. Figure 4 Per default, the system is configured to start with the nominal class II display view settings.
1.1.3. Drilling Template When mounting the wings to the side of the vehicle, the following drilling drawing has to be followed: Figure 5 The mounting interface of the wings shall be positioned in parallel to the median longitudinal plane of the vehicle. The maximum allowed tolerances at this mounting interface are described in paragraph 1.1.1 and 1.1.2.
2. Monitor Mounting Instructions 2.1. Mounting Please note that the mounting interface of the MirrorEye Pere- grine MP Bus monitors has changed compared to the mounting interface of the MirrorEye1 Multipurpose monitors. Mounting option 1 – Four-point mounting 1. Use M6 bolts, length depending on the mounting interface (insert thread length is 10mm) 2.
2.2. Display Distances and Angles There are limitations to the mounting positions of the monitors (A and B) to ensure that the system presents the class II and class IV to the driver with the required magnification. The system is certified for use of either a 12.3” monitor, or a 15” monitor on both the left side and right size of the driver.
3. ECU Installation Instructions 3.1. Mounting Mounting option 1 – Use the screw pillars on top of the ECU. • Use M6 bolts, length depending on the mounting interface. • Recommended tightening torque: 10Nm. Figure 8.1 Mounting option 2 – Use the eyelets on the side of the ECU •...
4. Wire Routing Instruction The MirrorEye MP Set must be connected by trained electricians. Under no circumstances should you make connections that are not described in this manual. 4.1. Connections/Layout Figure 9 Main harness (Cable 1 in Figure 9) Figure 10 4.2.
4.3. Minimum Allowed Bending Radii For correct data transmission through the COAX cables, it is important to route the cables in such a way that the minimum bending radius is ensured. Installing the cables with a bending radius smaller than the minimum bending radii specified in this document could result in partial, temporary or permanent loss of image on the displays.
5. System Menu 5.1. Controller The Menu of the MirrorEye system can only be accessed via a vehicle controller and by a dealer. In this menu, the distance lines can be programmed, as well as other features of the MirrorEye system.
System Features 6.1. Display View Calibration The MirrorEye Peregrine MP system supports horizontal and vertical adjustment of the class II display views during installation on the vehicle. This allows for correction of tolerance stack up in the wings and at the moun- ting interface.
6.2. Auto Display Brightness Controll The system contains a pre-defined automatic brightness curve. It will automatically adjust the display brightness based on the values measured by the ambient light sensors in the displays. The figure below shows an example of the illumination profile for MirrorEye Peregrine MP. Figure 17 Both monitors will be set to a brightness value corresponding to the highest ambient light level measured by the sensors.
6.5. Lens Heating The cameras in the system include a heater disk positioned against the inside of the lens body. Depending on the internal camera temperature the lens heater will activate automatically. Lens heating is an automatic feature which cannot be accessed or modified by the user.
It is the responsibility of the dealer to make sure that they have a process in place to make sure that the distance lines are programmed according to the description above and that this process is repeatable. Stoneridge-Orlaco is not responsible for any errors in the programming of the distance lines.

6.7.2. Programming the Distance Lines Note: before setting up the distance lines it is important to first configure the displays in the required display lay- out. (See section 6.3) 1. Place markers alongside the vehicle on places where you want the lines to be seen on the monitors, see Figure 13.
Stoneridge-Stoneridge-Orlaco advises the driver and/or owner of the vehicle to regularly check the position of the distance lines. Besides this Stoneridge-Orlaco strongly advises to check the position when the vehicle is at a service station for servicing. 6.7.5. Contact information For questions please contact application engineering or account management from Stoneridge-Orlaco.
