Pre-disassembly Instructions Do the following prior to starting any maintenance procedures: 1. Place the system on a stable work surface. 2. Remove the power adapter from the USB Type-C port (A) or the DC-in jack (B) as shown in Figure 1-1.

RTC Battery Removal Prerequisite: Bottom Case Removal 1. Disconnect the RTC battery cable from the mainboard connector (A) (Figure 1-9). 2. Using plastic tweezers, carefully pry to detach the adhesive tape underneath the RTC battery (B) (Figure 1-9). Then remove the RTC battery. WEEE Annex VII Component: RTC Battery Figure 1-9.
Mainboard Removal Prerequisite: WLAN Module Removal 1. Remove four (4) screws securing the mainboard in place (Figure 1-10). Figure 1-10. Mainboard Removal 2. By holding the CPU bracket, slightly pull the rear panel (highlighted with the yellow rectangle) of the top case, and then lift the mainboard to release the rear I/O ports from their slots as shown in Figure 1-11.
