Mode of operation 5 MODE OF OPERATION The figure shows the cooling circuit of the commotherm AWi heat pump with its most important components. A refrigerant circulates and run through various changes of state. In the evaporator the refrigerant absorbs energy resp.
Mode of operation The HERZ heat pump is an “electrically-driven compression heat pump with the refrigerant, R32”. An electrically driven compressor, compresses and feeds the refrigerant through a pipe circuit consisting of copper pipes, whereby pressure up to 49 bar may arise.
In the event of fire, any type of fire extinguisher may be used! There is no risk of the R32 refrigerant escaping if the HERZ heat pump is used correctly. If there is an escape of refrigerant due to improper use, there is a risk of suffocation (air displacement) and frostbite (exit points may become extremely cold).
Mode of operation 5.2 Safety devices The pressures in the commotherm heat pump should remain within a define range. To ensure this, so-called pressure switches are built in. These serve on the one hand as a safety device, and on the other hand to ensure that the heat pump works in the defined range.
Description of heat pump control 6 DESCRIPTION OF HEAT PUMP CONTROL 6.1 Operating conditions Status 0 Ready If the heat pump is in “heating operation” or “cooling operation” mode but there is no request from the consumer, the operating condition "ready" also appears Status: 1 Pump flow In this condition, the source and condenser pump start up and run for a pre-set time.
Page 18
Description of heat pump control Status: 9 Min. temp. The heat pump changes to this state as soon as the back flow temperature of the heat pump drops below the value of the set Min. Temp. Cooling / Defrost WT. In this operating state, the heat pump switches off and the condenser pump runs.
Temperature manager 7 TEMPERATURE MANAGER The heat demand of the individual modules (hot water tank, buffer tank, heating circuit, solar, etc.) is controlled by the temperature manager. The below-mentioned scheme explains the functionality of the temperature manager. A module contains of an in- and output. Every module sends a required demand temperature to the temperature manager.
