Mineral based oils at 180°F (82°C) have about 2000 hours of service life where as Roots synthetic oil has about 6000 hours of service life. For mineral based ISO 220 grade oil the expected oil life at the threshold temperature would only be 250 hours, but with Roots synthetic oil it would be 750 hours.
