The heat pump in the Smart Lifestyle SLA-R20-190D/N4A4 may stop and the temperature may drop due to the following reasons:
1. Compressor Delay: After being set, the compressor waits 3 minutes before starting to balance refrigerant pressure. This is a self-protection feature.
2. Temperature Drop During Operation: Cold water from the inlet mixes with the hotter water in the tank, causing the upper water temperature to drop.
3. Temperature Drop Without Unit Activation: The unit only activates when the bottom water temperature drops below the set value to avoid frequent on/off cycling.
4. Error Codes (E01/E02/E04): If these errors appear three times within 30 minutes, the unit stops and won’t restart until the power is reset.
Prevention Measures: - Allow the unit time to start after setting. - Ensure correct temperature settings and avoid frequent changes. - Regularly reset the unit if system errors occur. - Maintain the unit: clean the tank and heater, check anode rod, and release water if unused in freezing areas.

6. Troubleshooting 6.1 Non-error tips Why compressor cannot start immediatedly after setting? Unit will wait for 3 minutes to balance the pressure of the refrigerant system before starting compressor agian. It is a self protection logic of the unit. Why sometimes the temperature shown on the dispay decreased while unit is running? When the temperature of layer water inside the tank is much higher than the bottom part, upper hot water will be mixed by the bottom cold water which is continually flow from the inlet tap water so that will decrease the water temperature of upper part .
