    Versaflo™ family of respiratory protection products. The TR-300+ PAPR assemblies are designed to be used with the 3M headgear listed on the approval label to form a complete National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) approved respiratory system. When used in accordance with its NIOSH approval, TR-300+ PAPR assemblies help provide respiratory protection against particulates.

    There are two battery charging options for 3M™ Versaflo™ Powered Air Purifying Respirator TR-300+ Batteries. The 3M™ Battery TR-341N kit includes (1) 3M™ Charger Cradle TR-340 and (1) 3M™ Power Supply TR-941N.   • Page 9 4. Battery charging: Ensure the gold electrical contacts on the battery and charger are clean, dry and free of debris. Insert the battery pack into the 3M™ Battery Charger Cradle TR-340 by sliding the back end of the battery pack in first. Set front end down and click into place (Fig. 2), charging will begin.

    Installation and Removal of 3M TR-330 or TR-332 Battery Packs NOTE: Only 3M™ Battery Pack TR-330 or TR-332 can be used with the 3M™ Versaflo™ Powered Air Purifying Respirator TR-300+ or TR-300 Motor/Blowers. Attempts to use any other battery pack will void the NIOSH approval, system warranty, will not provide respiratory protection, and may damage the PAPR.
  • Page 11 Never attempt to clean filter by knocking or blowing out accumulated material. Doing so will damage the filter media. e. Use of the spark arrestor is mandatory for welding and all situations where the 3M™ Versaflo™ Powered Air Purifying Respirator TR-300+ may be exposed to sparks, molten metal or other hot particulates.

  • Page 13 Breathing Tubes The 3M™ Versaflo™ Powered Air Purifying Respirator TR-300+ PAPR is approved for use with 3M™ Versaflo™ Breathing Tubes. Select an approved breathing tube that is appropriate for the work conditions.
  • Page 14 Belts Select an approved belt appropriate for the work conditions. Install the belt by threading the end of the belt through the retaining slots on the back side of the motor/blower (Fig. 10). Position the motor/blower so it rests in the small of the back or other location around the waist. Tighten belt for a snug fit. For TR-325 (nylon web) and TR-327 (Easy Clean), multiple belts can be interconnected to provide the wearer with a comfortable fit.

    OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Power 3M™ Versaflo™ Powered Air Purifying Respirator TR-300+ on Press the blue power/flow control button (Fig. 12 or 13-1) for 2 seconds and release. The unit will turn on and perform a self-diagnostic. The flow level, filter loading and battery charge indictors will blink and the auditory alarm will sound.

  • Page 17 Closely inspect the entire PAPR system including the motor/blower, cover, filter/cartridge, breathing tube, battery, belt, and headgear. Pay particular attention to component connection points for wear or damage. If parts are missing or damaged, replace them only with 3M™ Versaflo™ Powered Air Purifying Respirator TR-300+ replacement parts before proceeding.

    Remove the belt from the motor/blower by sliding it through the retaining slots on the back of the motor/blower (If sliders are used, they may need to be removed as well. The 3M™ Easy Clean Belt TR-327 is made of a non-porous material and can be wiped down or submersed in a soapy water solution.

    There are no user serviceable parts inside the TR-300+ PAPR Assembly. The motor/blower unit should not be opened to attempt repairs, doing so will void the warranty. Consult the TR-300+ Parts and Accessories guide for additional information including a listing of 3M™ Versaflo™ TR-300+ PAPR part numbers and exploded views.

    There are no user serviceable parts inside the TR-300+ PAPR Assembly. The motor blower unit should not be opened to attempt repairs or for any other reason. Contact 3M Technical Service to help identify additional possible causes and corrective actions for other problems you may experience.
