Breathable Grow Bags
Fabric grow bags are an improvement on regular potted containers
They breathe better – Unlike plastic potted containers, the fabric used in grow bags allows air to
reach plant roots. This encourages "air pruning" which prevents the plants from becoming rootbound.
When the roots touch air, they make new root tips instead of putting energy into longer roots which
will eventually choke the plant.
They drain better – Since water can escape in any direction grow bags are hard to overwater.
They have better temperature control – Improved airflow keeps the roots cooler in the summer.
The insulating fabric can keep the roots warmer when the temperature cools down.
The PET non-woven fabric recycled and recyclable helping to keep waste out of landfills.
Things to remember
• Depending on your soil mixture the grow bags will need more frequent watering than standard
containers.
• Fill the grow bags slowly. Add the soil slowly and evenly, lifting the sides as you go to keep the
bag standing upright.
• Cleaning the grow bags thoroughly before storage will extend the life of the bags.
• To ensure longer life of the bags, do not move them when the dirt is wet and heavy.
