2.01
General:
(a) When self

tapping screws
a

e used to
mount
mechanisms
onto castings, do
not
remove
the self
-
tapping
screws
.
Merely
loosen them
enough
to remove the
mecha
-
n1sms unless
specif ica lly
instructed
other
-
wise
.
(b) Retain
ing rings
ar
e
made
of
spr
ing
stee
l
and
have a
tendency
to release suddenly
.

avoid
loss of
these
rings
when

bled
at the
factory.

cover
Is fastened to the
typing
unit cover
with
two
TP18
1244
screws,
four TP7002
was
her
s, two
TP 124177
lockwashe
r
s, and
two
TP3598
nuts.
The two
covers
are assembled
with
the bottom sur-
face
of the
covers
flush
with
each other
.

tape
reader
and
typing unit
cove

assembly
is
fastened
to
the typing unit
subbase
as
described
in the
appropriate
cover
section.
Note:
The left rear
corne
r
of the
tape
reader
cove
r
is secured
to
the
tape
reader
base
casting
with
a
scre
w.
(b)
With
the
tape
reader
and
cove
r
assem-
bly
secured
in
position
,
there
shall
be
equal
clearance
on
three s ides between
the
