INSTALL ATION • BEFORE YOU INSTALL Virtual Site Monitoring For continuous site monitoring, dedicating a PC to the GSC3000 system is recommended. Adding additional COM ports to existing PCs may create problems difficult for users to resolve. If, however, you decide to add PC COM ports, Gentner Communications recommends Comtrol Rocket Port four and eight-port extension boards.
INSTALL ATION • CONNECTING TO THE I/O UNIT Connecting to the I/O Unit The Voice Interface connects directly to your GSC3000 I/O unit, providing expanded accessibility to site equipment. Installation includes Your GSC3000 site con- installing a dial-up telephone line, a G-Bus network interconnection, and troller (both hardware and setting the Voice Interface’s network address.
