23G CRATE REMOVAL AND CASTER INSTALLATION
Crate Removal
The 23G has an uneven weight distribution. Proper safety equipment should be used at all
times when removing the 23G from the crate.
1.
We recommend using a properly rated hoist to remove the 23G from the crate. To
determine your 23G's shipping weight consult your Operation and Maintenance Manual.
The 23G's maximum shipping weight is approximately 1200 pounds.
2.
If a properly rated hoist is unavailable, we recommend having at least 3 persons to
uncrate the 23G.
3.
We recommend using appliance straps or other stabilizing tools when removing the 23G
from the crate.
4.
Do not install the casters while the 23G is on the crate.
Caster Installation
The 23G's casters should be installed on the machine after removing it from the crate. If the
casters are installed on the machine before removing it from the crate, the casters might
experience undue stress if the equipment is lowered to the floor at an angle or it is dropped.
When installing the casters, use a pallet jack or equivalent to lift the 23G off the floor. Make sure
the unit is secure before doing any work. Place the pallet jack under the 23G's pump end and
remove the feet on the 23G frame that were shipped with the equipment.
Prior to installation, use a 7/16" wrench to turn the hex nut beneath the caster's lower raceway
to expand the rubber adapter (See Drawing 1). Expand the rubber adapter so it fits snuggly
inside the equipment's tubing (See Drawing 2). Then insert the four casters with the larger
mounting adapters (Diameter 1 3/8" – 1 7/16") inside the four-square metal tubes on the pump's
side. Tighten the hex nut on the casters until the casters are securely in the tubes.
Use the smaller mounting adapter (Diameter 1 1/8" – 1 3/16") for the square metal tube on the
housing end of the machine. Turn the hex nut beneath the caster's lower raceway to expand the
rubber adapter (See Drawing 1). Expand the rubber adapter so it fits snuggly inside the tubing
(See Drawing 2). Then insert the caster into the square metal tube and further tighten the hex
nut until the caster is securely in the tube.
When finished installing the casters, lower the 23G to the floor and move it to its spot in the floor
plan.
