INDUSTRIAL MONITORING INSTRUMENTATION DIVISION Introduction The Model 689B01 Vibration Transmitter provides a 4 to 20 mA output proportional to true RMS velocity when used in conjunction with an ICP ® accelerometer. The 689B01 operates from a single power supply and easily interfaces with existing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s).
INDUSTRIAL MONITORING INSTRUMENTATION DIVISION Terminal Strip Wiring The 689B01 wiring is done through a nine position terminal strip. Sensor input, 4-20 mA output, acceleration output and power cables are connected to their respective terminals. Sensor Input - Terminal Strip Connect the sensor noting the correct polarity. If the cable used has a shield, tie the shield to the shield terminal ().
INDUSTRIAL MONITORING INSTRUMENTATION DIVISION Taking Measurements When reading the current output from the unit, use the following formula to calculate the vibration level: Measured mA x FSO ips Vibration Level Example 1: Using 100 mV/g sensor, Full Scale Output (FSO) = 0.1/Sens = 0.1/0.1 = 1 in/sec pk. Measured mA Vibration Level <1.0...
2 – ESD sensitivity This equipment is designed with user safety in mind; however, the protection provided by the equipment may be impaired if the equipment is used in a manner not specified by PCB Piezotronics, Inc. caution 1 – ESD sensitivity Cables can kill your equipment.
