Before using the equipment

Always remove the battery pack before making adjustments to the equipment.

Be sure to read the following information before you put the cordless equipment into operation:

  • Charge the battery pack with the charger.

Fitting the plug-in tools

(Figures 1-5)

  • Open the quick-release lock for changing tools (5) as shown in Fig. 2 and 3.
    Fitting the plug-in tools - Step 1
  • To fit the plug-in tools safely you should hold the multifunction tool so that the On/Off switch (1) points down and the tool chuck (2) faces up.
  • Place the plug-in tool (e.g. the scraper) on the tool chuck (2) so that the pins of the tool chuck fit into the recesses in the plug-in tool. The tool chuck (2) is magnetic in order to secure the plug-in tool during the clamping procedure.
  • Close the quick-release lock for changing tools (5) again. Take care that the pins of the chuck (2) remain in the recesses in the plugin tool.
  • The equipment comes with a disk (14) for safely securing plug-in tools with recesses. Please note the correct use (camber facing the tool) of the disk (14) for plug-in tools with recess as shown in Fig. 4 and 5.
    Fitting the plug-in tools - Step 2

Check that the plug-in tool is secure.

Triangular sanding/grinding plate

Fit the triangular sanding/grinding plate to use the equipment as a delta sander/grinder.

Fastening the sanding/grinding paper
The hook-and-loop-fastener enables easy changing of the abrasive paper. Make sure that the vacuum extraction holes on the abrasive paper and the grinding/sanding disk are aligned.

Operation

Charging the LI battery pack

  1. Remove the battery pack (6) from the handle, pressing the pushlock button (7) downwards to do so. (Fig. 6)
Charging the LI battery pack - Step 1
  2. Check that your mains voltage is the same as that marked on the rating plate of the battery charger. Insert the power plug of the charger into the socket outlet. The green LED will then begin to flash.
  3. Push the battery pack onto the battery charger. (Fig. 7)
Charging the LI battery pack - Step 2

In section "Charger indicator" you will find a table with an explanation of the LED indicator on the charger.

If the battery pack fails to charge, check for the following:

  • voltage at the power socket
  • whether there is good contact at the charging contacts of the charging unit

If the battery pack still fails to charge, send

  • the charging unit
  • and the battery pack to our customer service center.

To ensure that items are properly packaged and delivered when you send them to us, please contact our customer service or the point of sale at which the equipment was purchased.

burn hazard When shipping or disposing of batteries and cordless tools, always ensure that they are packed individually in plastic bags to prevent short circuits and fires.

To ensure that the battery pack provides long service, you should take care to recharge it promptly. You must recharge the battery pack when you notice that the performance of the device drops. Never allow the battery pack to become fully discharged. This will cause it to develop a defect.

Switching on and off

Operation - Switching on and off
(Fig. 8)
Slide the switch (1) forwards to switch on the equipment.
Slide the switch (1) to the rear again to switch off the equipment.

Practical tips

  • Switch on the equipment.
  • Work away from the body.
  • Never move your hands into the direct vicinity of the work area.
  • Use only plug-in tools which are in good working order and undamaged.

Plug-in tools:
Sawing:
Sawing wood and plastic. Notes on working practice: When sawing, watch out for foreign bodies in the material and remove them if necessary.
Plunge cutting is allowed only in soft materials such as wood or plasterboard.

Sanding/grinding: Surface sanding/grinding at edges, in corners or hard-to-reach areas. Depending on choice of abrasive paper for the sanding/grinding of wood, paint, lacquer, etc.
Notes on working practice:
This equipment off ers particularly high performance for the grinding/sanding of hard-to-reach corners and edges. To grind/sand profiles and channels you can also work with just the tip or the edge of the grinding/sanding disk. Various grinding/sanding papers are available, specially designed for the diff erent types of material you may be working on and the amount you wish to remove from the surface. The amount removed will depend largely on the choice of sanding/grinding paper and pressure applied to the sanding/grinding disk.

Scraping: Scraping off old paint or adhesives.
Notes on working practice:
Move the plug-in tool against the area you want to remove. Begin with a flat angle of incidence and little pressure. The surface (e.g. wood, plaster) may be damaged if too much pressure is used.

Speed control

Operation - Using Speed control

(Fig. 8)
You can select the speed by turning the speed controller (4).

Plus direction: Higher speed
Minus direction: Lower speed

Battery capacity indicator

(Fig. 9 /Item b)
Press the battery capacity indicator switch (a).
The battery capacity indicator (b) will indicate the charge status of the battery by means of 3 LEDs.

All 3 LEDs are lit:
The battery is fully charged.
2 or 1 LED(s) are lit:
The battery has an adequate remaining charge.

1 LED flashes:
The battery is empty, recharge the battery.

All LEDs blink:
The battery temperature is too low. Remove the battery from the equipment, keep it at room temperature for one day. If the fault reoccurs, this means that the rechargeable battery has undergone exhaustive discharge and is defective. Remove the battery from the equipment. Never use or charge a defective battery.

Cleaning and maintenance

Hazard!
Always take the battery out of the equipment before starting any cleaning work.

Cleaning

  • Keep all safety devices, air vents and the motor housing free of dirt and dust as far as possible. Wipe the equipment with a clean cloth or blow it with compressed air at low pressure.
  • We recommend that you clean the device immediately each time you have finished using it.
  • Clean the equipment regularly with a moist cloth and some soft soap. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents; these could attack the plastic parts of the equipment. Ensure that no water can seep into the device. The ingress of water into an electric tool increases the risk of an electric shock.

Maintenance

There are no parts inside the equipment which require additional maintenance.
