    We look forward to a long, healthy relationship with you and our company. The Model 870 Material Coiling Unit is designed to neatly coil long lengths of flexible wire, cable, and tubing. The unit’s unique coiling bowl, adjustable tube assembly, and coiling bowl cover can coil material to a specific finished coil diameter, utilizing interchangeable coiling bowl inserts.

    If concealed damage is discovered after unpacking this shipment, you must submit a damaged freight claim with the carrier. Carpenter Mfg. Co., Inc. cannot submit your claim for you. In order for you to collect for concealed damage, the carrier must be notified with 5 days of the date you receive this shipment.

The coiling bowl cover guarantees containment of material during the coiling process, allowing for the effective coiling of high-memory materials.

For example, if the coiling requirement is for a 10-inch finished coil diameter, the coiling bowl insert set will be machined to accommodate this requirement.

    Positioning Instructions for Model 36A/36B or Model 360 To position the Model 870 to a Model 36A/36B or Model 360, take the PN 8671 straight tube adapter and the PN 8672 straight tube out of the machine parts bag (outlined in the Assembling section of the operator’s manual).

    Section 5 – Model 870 Operating and Control Settings Manual Spin Mode It may occasionally be desirable to manually run the Model 870 coiling bowl to test its operation separate from the control of the material processing machine. To activate the Model 870 coiling bowl manually, press the MANUAL SPIN button under “OPERATING MODE”.

Co., Inc. material processing machine, press the NORMAL OPERATION button under “OPERATING MODE”, and press the CARPENTER/FULL AUTO button under “CONTROL MODE”.

    Press the NORMAL OPERATION button under “OPERATING MODE”, and press the EXTERNAL/MANUAL button under “CONTROL MODE”. When these settings are selected, the Model 870 coiling bowl will spin as long as the PN 8663 foot switch assembly is depressed. When the PN 8663 foot switch assembly is released, the coiling bowl will stop spinning.

    Press the NORMAL OPERATION button under “OPERATING MODE”, and press the EXTERNAL/MANUAL button under “CONTROL MODE”. When these settings are selected, the Model 870 coiling bowl will begin to spin when the PN 8663 foot switch assembly is pressed once. When the PN 8663 foot switch assembly is pressed again, the coiling bowl will stop spinning.

    1. The speed “RANGE SELECT” and speed “RANGE ADJUST” settings will be application-dependent based on the material processing machine settings. When initially setting up the Model 870, set speed “RANGE SELECT” to speed 2 by pressing the SPD2 button. Rotate the speed “RANGE ADJUST” control to approximately midpoint.
