Brief instructions descaling

Prerequisite:
The unit is depressurised.
•
This quick guide does not replace the manual. Only
•
descale the unit if you are familiar with the operation of
the Elmasteam 8 and are informed about the unit's
safety instructions.
You have knowledge of how to fill and empty the unit,
•
attach the maintenance hose and use the rinsing set.
Duration:
Descaling takes at least 2.5 hours.

Procedural method:
The "service" program guides you through descaling steps 1 – 8. The
•
corresponding active descaling step lights up green on the pressure gauge.
Exception:
If the unit is operated with deionised water, descaling using the Elma Steam
Descaler is not necessary. If deionised water has been set in the settings
descaling ends automatically after rinsing (descaling step 2).
Dissolve a bag of Elma Steam Descaler in 1.5 litres of mains water or softened
•
water.
1. Set the rotary knob to service.
2. Press the rotary knob 2 seconds to confirm.
 The descaling step 1 on the gauge illuminates as
green.
3. Open the pressure vessel screw cap.
4. Drain the device completely via the ball valve.
