- Communications protocol through the RS-232 port. The complete system is comprised of: 1 central multizone audio system unit model SAM-306, 6 tactile zone control keypads and 1 remote control for controlling the zone control keypads. -

4.- INPUTS 1-6: auxiliary inputs allowing the connection of audio sources, 2 x RCA connectors. 5.- EXPANSION: input and output for connecting other multizone systems model SAM-306 in cascade. It is possible to interconnect a maximum of 3 units until you reach a maximum of 18 zones. -

ZONE CONTROL KEYPAD 1.- SELECT: for selecting different options that will appear on the screen: audio source, volume adjustment and bass and treble adjustment. 2.- MUTE: to activate/deactivate the audio output for a certain zone. 3.- s/w: to increase/decrease the parameter shown on the screen: audio source selection, volume and bass and treble adjustment. - Page 7 RS-232 COMMUNICATIONS PROTOCOL To control the system using the RS-232 port it is recommended that you use the Windows Hyperterminal application or similar applications. It must be set with the following values: - Select the corresponding COM port, press ‘Setup’ and establish the following values: Bits per second: 9600 Data bits: 8 Parity: None...
- Page 8 PPUU Indicates the instruction to be carried out: -PA_ _: PA control. PA00: the PA control will not affect the zone or zones selected. PA01: the PA control will affect the zone or zones selected. -PR_ _: activation/standby control. PR00: puts the zone or zones selected in standby mode. PR01: activates the zone or zones selected.
- Page 9 Finally, the start-up name of the device that appears on the control of each zone can be modified. Enter the command with the following structure: “M<New name” and press intro. Where New name enter the chosen name in 8 characters maximum. Examples of instructions: <10VO16: sets volume 16 in all the zones of the principal master unit.
