The S253 register specifies the command set
used by the modem. Once the register is set,
the appropriate command set becomes active,
along with that command set's operational
properties, the next time a power-up or Z reset
is executed. Possible contents for this register
are the following:
O No command set (modem does
not respond to any
commands).
1 O AT
asynchronous command
set.
