System Overview
This section provides general description of the SMO-F531 magneto-optical disk drive.

@ Disk Insertion Slot
Insert the disk cartridge into this slot.
ll BUSY Indicator
The indicator lights up when the drive is accessing or writing data.
Do not eject the disk
cartridge when this indicator is lit.
@ Emergency Eject Hole
When
the disk cartridge cannot
be ejected using the EJECT
button
or soltware
commands, insert the supplied emergency eject tool into this hole to eject the cartridge.
Do not attempt to use the emergency tool during power on.
@ Eject Button
Press this button to eject the disk cartridge from the drive.
You can also eject the
cartridge using software command on the host computer.
The SMO-F531 suspends
ejection of disk cartridge while it executes a SCSI command or while it holds data to be
flush in the cache buffer.
Note that this Eject button is disabled when the "Lock
Cartridge" software command had been issued from the host system.
Do not eject the
disk cartridge when the BUSY indicator is lit.
