Recharging the Battery

1.
Connect the AC adapter to your notebook
The moment you connect an AC adapter to
your notebook, the notebook begins to charge
the battery pack.

When the battery level indicator turns off
after the battery is completely charged,
(while the notebook is in off mode)
disconnect the AC adapter from the
notebook.
Before using the supplied battery
pack for the very first time after
purchase, remember to charge it fully.
If a charged battery has not been
recharged for more than a month,
charge it fully before using it.
When a notebook is turned off, the
Battery Level LED indicator goes off
immediately if the battery is completely
charged.

d e g r a d e s w h e n i t i s u s e d i n a n
extremely hot or cold place.
When battery is very hot, for example,
immediately after long usage of the
notebook, the battery protection feature
may be activated to prevent the battery
from being recharged. When the
temperature decreases, the notebook
automatically begins to charge the
battery.

Battery Indicator (
)
This lamp indicates charging status of battery
when AC adapter is connected to PC.
Charging completed or there is no charging
because AC adapter is not connected.
Charging
No charging and battery is low.
When blinks orange
There is a charging error.
When blinks red
There is a battery error.
Fujitsu LIFEBOOK has several battery
protection features to extend the battery
life cycle.
User can change the battery charging
mode by selecting either "Full charge
mode" or "80% charge mode" in Fujitsu
Battery Utility.
When user selects "Full charge mode"
and plugs in the AC adapter, the battery
will stop charging if the battery level is in
between 90% and 100%. If the battery
level is lower than 90%, the battery will
be charged up to 100%.
When user selects "80% charge mode"
and plugs in the AC adapter, the battery
will stop charging if the battery level is
in between 70% and 80%. If the battery
level is lower than 70%, the battery will
be charged up to 80%.

Running LIFEBOOK on its Battery

This section describes the steps to run the
notebook on its internal standard battery.
Disconnect the AC adapter from your notebook
and press the power button.

decreases faster when it is used in cold
place.
T h e c h a r g e a b i l i t y o f t h e b a t t e r y
decreases after it has been used over
a long period of time. If the battery runs
down very fast, replace it with a new
battery.
Getting to Know Your LIFEBOOK
Checking the Power Level
of the Battery
When the notebook is turned on or when the
battery is being charged, the Battery Indicator
(
) turns on with different color to show the
power level of the battery.
Remaining battery level: 20% – 100%
Remaining battery level: below 20%
Due to certain characteristics of battery,
the Battery Level Indicators may not
correctly show the remaining power of
the battery, especially under extreme
temperature conditions.
