Quickstart – StaRWIS-UMB Stationary Road Weather Information Sensor
StaRWIS Quickstart: Connection & Adaption
Thank you for choosing our product. With this quickstart sheet, we would like to assist you with the
connection, installation and first steps of the StaRWIS-UMB road sensor.
Connections & Pin assignment for using the UMB protocol:
1 Pink
3 Red
5 Green
7 White
Connection to ISOCON-UMB:
Adaption of StaRWIS after installation via ConfigTool.NET software:
1. Install ConfigTool.NET software on the PC or laptop
(Software available on the in the delivery included memory stick and on www.lufft.com)
2. Connect Com-Port PC/laptop with interface ISOCON-UMB (RS232-SUBD9 1:1)
3. Start program under: Start
4. Use the button (Settings)
5. Use the button (Edit workspaces)
6. After a double click on the StaRWIS workspace you can use the "+" to add a device.
7. Choose MARWIS/StaRWIS and after that click on the button "Load Channel List"
8. Use the buttons "settings"
device adjustment. Here you can start the adaption of the StaRWIS.
9. After a successful adaption the StaRWIS is ready for normal measuring operation.
Note: The adaption can also be executed via tablet and the MARWIS App (Android or
IOS). Detailed information available in the StaRWIS/MARWIS manual.

Mounting of the StaRWIS on a pole:
For mounting of the sensor on a pole, a combination wrench
SW17 is required
Measuring distance: 5.5 m +/- 0. 5m
Installation height (pole): 4.6 m...5.6 m
