Track numbers of the edited tunes
When
editing after having programmed
particular
tracks, if these programmed tracks are given priority
and there is set time to spare, tracks which have not
been programmed will automatically be added.
Notes:
1. While you can edit with a different time setting to that of the
tape you are using, part of the tape may be left with nothing
recorded on it, or the last track on side A or side B may be cut
short.
2. Up to a maximum of 20 tracks can be edited using this function.
3. Even if one track is programmed beyond track number 43, the
editing function will not operate.
4. The EDIT function may not operate properly for discs having
only one track or having tracks of fong duration such as classi-
cal music.

& Editing
1. Press the EDIT key when the player is stopped.
2. Within 5 seconds of pressing the EDIT key, set the return
time for the tape on which you are going to record using
the numeric keys.
® You cannot set for over 100 minutes.
Example:
When you want to edit on a 46 minute tape
Press the
j+ 10] key four times and key number | 6} once.
@ The editing is carried out in the following sequence.
@ The setting time is halved (to 23 minutes in the exam-
ple above) and track numbers are selected automatically
so that they just fit in file A (for the A side of the tape).
@ After several seconds the time remaining on file A is
shown on the display, and then the editing is carried
out in the same way for file B (for the B side of the tape).
@® When the editing is completed, the numbers of the
programmed
tracks and the total required time are
shown on the display.
& Checking contents of edited program
Press the CHECK key.
@
For each time you press the CHECK key you can con-
firm the track numbers in the order edited from the first
one in file A to the last one in file B.
& Playing
Press the PLAY/PAUSE key

® The play starts in order from the first track in file A and
then pauses at the beginning of file B.
®
To
listen
to
file
B,
press
the
PLAY/PAUSE
key
Be-/ii | again.
& Erasing an edited program
The edited contents are canceled if you perform any of the
following operations.
@ Pressing the numeric keys.
@ Pressing the CLEAR key.
@ Pressing the P-MODE key and switching into the
TRACK mode.
@ Pressing the OPEN/CLOSE key (4).
