Problem
The blades cannot rotate.
Defective grass discharge.
The headlight does not function.

Cause
There is blockage in the clutch mech-
anism.
The drive belt for the cutting deck is
worn or damaged.
An idler pulley does not turn.
A blade blade pulley does not turn.
The engine speed is too slow.
The product is operated at too high
forward or rearward speed.
The grass is wet.
The cutting deck is deck not parallel.
The tire pressure is incorrect.
The blades are worn, damaged or
loose.
Buildup of grass or dirt below the cut-
ting deck.
The drive belt for the cutting deck is
worn or damaged.
The blades are incorrectly installed.
Incorrect blades are used.
Clogged air holes of the cutting deck
from buildup of grass, dirt around the
blade pulleys.
The headlight switch is in the off po-
sition.
The light bulb is defective.
The power switch for the headlight is
defective.
The cable to the headlight is not con-
nected.
There is short circuit in the headlight
cable.
Action
Remove the blockage.
Replace the drive belt for the cutting
deck.
Speak to an approved service agent.
Speak to an approved service agent.
Put the throttle control in the full
throttle position.
Use slower speed.
Let the grass become dry before you
cut it.
Adjust the parallelism of the cutting
To adjust the parallel-
deck. Refer to
ism of the cutting deck on page 27 .
Do a check of the tire pressure. Ad-
just the tire pressure if it is necessa-
ry.
Replace blades or tighten bolts on
the blades.
Clean the cutting deck.
Replace the drive belt for the cutting
deck.
Install the blades with the sharp edge
down.
Replace the blades with the correct
blades in the parts manual.
Clean around the blade pulleys to
open air holes.
Put the headlight switch in the on po-
sition.
Replace the light bulb.
Speak to an approved service agent.
Do a check of wires and connections.
Speak to an approved service agent.
