1. Press the RECORD button.

Chord, Bass and rhythm patterns can now be recorded. The TEMPO/
SONG SELECT Indicator and the BEAT lamps above, it will indicate
the measure and beat number. (This button will automatically set the
PIANO ABC feature to ON.)
2. Select a Rhythm pattern.

3. While playing the first chord of the song, press the appropriate
Duration button.

The chord must be played in the range to the left of the key-split point. The
chord is memorized by '' © " for one measure and by ** J " for one beat.
The TEMPO/SONG SELECT Indicator will show the number of
measures, and the BEAT Lamps will show the number of beats.
NOTE: € To record two beats, for example, press the ** J " button twice while depressing
achord. To record a three-beat measure, press the '' 4 " button three times while
depressing a chord.
@ Any changes in the Rhythm pattern during a recording operation will also be
memorized. INTRO/ENDING, and FILL IN patterns will also be memorized.
[Additional Information]
@ If the Duration button is pressed without playing a
chord with the left hand, that section will be
memorized without a chord.
@ Although recording of the PERFORMANCE
MEMORY will not affect the data of SEQUENCER
MEMORY, use of ROM MUSIC will erase any
previously memorized PERFORMANCE MEMORY
data. When erasure is not desirable, the data can be
saved ina RAM MUSIC NOTEBOOK, a RAM PACK
or on a Cassette Tape (see Page 18).
@ Sequencer Memory data recorded in the Clavinova can
be kept for approximately one week, even with the
power OFF.
@ Up to 999 bars can be memorized. (But this capacity
may be decreased according to the amount of data in
the Performance Memory.)

If you wish to change the previously recorded rhythm(s)
and chord(s), you can record them again at any measure(s)
by using the EDIT button.
When the EDIT button is pressed for the first time, the
Indicator will return to the first beat of the measure
recorded last. Next, the Indicator will return to the first
beat of the previous measure each time the EDIT button
is pressed.
