Monitoring the Battery Condition
The battery power status indicator

shows
the condition of the battery pack.
Color
Green
Yellow
Orange
Blinking
orange
Meaning
Fully charged.
Usable.
The power is low. It is
recommended that the AC adapter
be connected to the computer to
charge the battery pack.
Almost discharged. The computer
will enter suspend mode within 1
minute.
Take either of the following actions:
• Connect the AC adapter to the
computer without removing the
battery pack.
• Close the liquid crystal display
(LCD) and carefully listen to how
many beeps are sounded. Then,
replace the battery pack with a
fully-charged spare.
If you hear two beeps, connect
the AC adapter, then replace the
battery pack.

Meaning
The battery pack is not installed, or
the computer is turned off.
If the computer is in suspend mode
caused by a low battery condition,
data can be lost. Take either of the
following actions immediately.
Note: We recommend you take the
necessary action when the
blinking orange condition
occurs.
• To continue your work with the
AC adapter:
1. Connect the AC adapter to
the computer.
2. Press either click button of
the Pointing Stick to resume
normal operation.
• To continue your work with a
fully-charged battery pack:
1. Connect the AC adapter to
the computer.
2. Replace the battery pack with
a fully-charged spare.
3. Press either click button of
the Pointing Stick to resume
normal operation.
4. Disconnect the AC adapter
from the computer.
