USING THE CLOSE UP LENS

The LEICA MONOVID 8x20 can also be used to
provide a magnified view of objects that are at
close range. To do this, the close up lens (5) sup-
plied is screwed into the inner thread (5a) on the
monocular lens (clockwise). Depending on the
position of the focusing ring, this results in a view-
ing distance of around 25–30cm with an identical
magnification.
CARE/CLEANING
Your LEICA MONOVID 8x20 does not require any
special care. Coarse dirt particles, such as sand,
should be removed with a hair pencil or blown off.
Fingerprints etc. on the lens and the eyepiece lens-
es can be wiped off with a soft, clean leather or lint
free cloth. The best way to remove spots of water
on the lens and eyepiece lenses is with a cloth
moistened with water.
Caution:
When wiping heavily soiled lens surfaces, do not
exert excessive force. Although the coating is highly
abrasion resistant, it can be damaged by sand or
salt crystals.
