 WARNING! Keep batteries
out of reach of children.
Coin or button batteries can cause
severe or fatal injuries within 2 hours
of being swallowed or placed inside
any part of the body. Even flat batter-
ies can still be dangerous. If you sus-
pect a child has swallowed a battery
or placed a battery inside any part of
their body, seek medical advice im-
mediately (Australia: Poisons Inform-
ation Centre, Tel. 13 11 26; NZ: Na-
tional Poisons Centre, Tel. 0800 764
766). Examine devices and make
sure the battery compartment is cor-
rectly secured, e.g. that the screw or
other mechanical fastener is
tightened. Do not use if compart-
ment is not secure. Used batteries
must be kept away from children
while awaiting disposal and must be
disposed of in a safe manner.
How to change the battery in the ra-
dio-control handle (Fig. 44)
 Undo the screw on the battery com-
partment cover using a cross-tip
screwdriver and then remove the
cover.
 Replace the battery with a new one.
Make sure the polarity is correct.
 Replace the cover and tighten the
screw back up again.
 Dispose of the old battery in a muni-
cipal recycling facility.
When to replace the battery in the
LED handle
Replace the batteries when necessary. 3
1.5 V batteries (AAA) are required.

How to change the battery in the LED
handle (Fig. 06 + 07)
 Loosen the screw on the cover.
 Press in the sides of the cover to re-
lease the retainers and remove the
cover.
 Take out the battery holder and insert
the 3 batteries supplied. Make sure
the polarity is correct.
 Refit the battery holder. Arrows are
marked on the battery holder and
battery compartment as a fitting aid.
They should point in the same direc-
tion.
 Replace the cover and tighten the
screw back up again.
Replacing the thread lifters (Fig. 45)
(not possible on EcoTeQ Plus floor-
heads)
The thread lifters on the suction inlet to
the floorhead can be replaced. Replace
the thread lifters if the pile has worn
down.
 Lever the thread lifters from the slots.
To do so use a suitable tool, e.g. a flat
blade screwdriver.
 Fit new thread lifters.
Replacement parts are available from
your Miele dealer or from the Miele
Spare Parts Dept.
