Direct keys
The direct keys only react when they are
operated with a nger.
Sometimes not all direct keys are illumi-
nated. Only the illuminated direct keys
have a function at that moment.
"On/O " button
Switch on the appliance by brie y press-
ing the "On/O " button. The appliance
performs automatic rinsing while it heats
up. Place a vessel beneath the outlet if
possible.
You can switch o the appliance by press-
ing the "On/O " button for approximately
2 seconds. If you do not switch o the
appliance, it will switch o automatically
after a de ned o time.
"Rotary Switch"
You can very simply navigate through the
menu with the "Rotary Switch".
Press the "Rotary Switch" for
>2 s
longer than 2 seconds to call up
the Programmes menu.
You can select an entry by turn-
ing the "Rotary Switch".
By pressing brie y, you can con-
rm a selection or leave a menu
that has no available options.
The selection of menus is always shown
in shortened form in these operating
instructions:
Navigate to the Care > Descaling menu.

Exit allows you to leave a menu and access
the Ready display.
3 First steps

3.1 Unpacking the appliance

Remove the packaging material, the adhe-
sive strips and the protective lms from
the appliance. Please keep the original
packaging.
The appliance has been tested in the
factory to ensure that it functions perfectly.
Therefore, the appliance may still contain
traces of co ee and water.

3.2 Installing the appliance

Install the appliance in a dry room.
ƒ
Install the appliance on a stable, at and
ƒ
dry surface. The surface may not be hot.
The appliance may not be placed in the
vicinity of sinks or the like.
Install the appliance at a su cient
ƒ
distance (approx. 10 cm) from the wall
and other objects. The space above the
appliance should be at least 20 cm.
Route the power cable so it does not lie
ƒ
over edges or cannot be damaged by
hot surfaces.

3.3 Connecting the appliance

Only connect the appliance to a properly
installed earthing contact socket. The
earthing contact socket must have a fuse
of at least 10 A.
3.4 Switching on the appliance

Place a vessel beneath the height-ad-
ƒ
justable outlet. The distance between
the outlet and the vessel should be as
small as possible.
