4. Playing your own music
4.1 Selecting Tones
The ep-97/77 allows you to play using eight different
sounds including piano. The ep-97/77's sounds are
called "Tones".
Use the eight Tone buttons to select tones. When the
ep-97/77 is turned on, it automatically selects the
Tone "Piano 1".

When you play the keyboard, both the Piano | and
Strings Tones are layered. This is only an example,
though: you can hold down any Tone button and
press another Tone button to layer two sounds.
2. To cancel the Layer function, press any Tone but-
ton.
Now, only the sound of the button you pressed will be
heard.
4.3 Adding Reverb
The ep-97/77 allows you to add reverberation to what
you play on the keyboard. The Reverb effect provides
a pleasant reverberation that gives the impression that
you are performing in a concert hall or similar space.
The ep-97/77 does not remember for which Tones
you switch on the Reverb effect. The effect is either on
or off. When the power is turned on, the Reverb effect
will be cancelled.
1. Press the [Reverb] button (indicator lights).

4.4 Adding Chorus
The ep-97/77 allows you to add Chorus to what you
play on the keyboard.
The Chorus effect creates a fuller sound with a dis-
tinct "stereo" impression ideal for pop music. The set-
ting of the Chorus effect is memorized independently
for each sound: when the power is turned on, the
Chorus Effect will be applied to the "E.Piano" and
"Vibraphone" Tones, and off for the other sounds.
1. Press the (Chorus) button to turn on the indicator.
The Chorus Effect will be applied to the currently
selected Tone.
