CDX-A10/CDX-J10
CONNECTIONS
Caution
* Before
making
connections,
disconnect
the ground terminal of the car battery to
avoid short circuits.
*Connect
the yellow, green and red power
input leads only after all other leads have
been connected.
*Be
sure to connect
the red power
input
lead to the positive 12 V power
terminal
which is energized when the ignition key is
in the accessory position.
* Run all ground wires to a common ground
point.
Attach the supplied ground wire.
Memory-hold connection
When the yellow power input lead is connected
as shown, power will be always supplied to the
memory circuit even when the ignition key is
switched off.
The name and function of each lead from the
CDX-A10 or CDX-J10 can be determined by
its color as described below.

*When this lead is connected to the lighting con-
trol terminal, the illumination of the remote com-
mander is on when the car's instrument panel is lit.
If you do not want to synchronize both illumina-
tions, or if your car does not have the lighting con-
trol terminal, connect the lead to the ® 12 V power
terminal which is energized when the ignition key
is in the accessory position.
After all leads have been connected, press
the RESET
button of the CDX-A10 or
COX-~J10 with a pencit or similar object.

EXAMPLE 1: With the optional XT-10 tuner
unit
Power antenna connection
When
you use a power antenna, connect the
blue lead of the CDX-A10 or CDX-J10 or the
Power
antenna
relay
control
lead
of
the
XT-10 to the power antenna relay box.
Note:
A power antenna without a relay con-
trol box cannot be used with this unit.
Using the remote commander, you can con-
trol the power antenna.
When you connect the power antenna relay
control lead of the XT-10 to the power anten-
na relay box, press the TUNER/BAND button
to raise the antenna. When the ALL OFF but-
ton or the m4E/DISC
button is pressed, the
antenna wil! be automatically retracted.
When you connect the blue lead of the CDX-
A10 or CDX-J10
to the power antenna relay
box, press the TUNER/BAND button or the
® IN/OISC button to raise the antenna. When
the ALL OFF button is pressed, the antenna
will be automatically retracted.
For details about the power antenna, refer to
the power antenna instruction manual.

@ When
the CDX-A10 or CDX-J10 is turned
on, the connected car stereo will be turned
off,
To listen to the car stereo, turn the CDX-
A10 or CDX-J10 off,

\f the LINE
IN jacks of the XA-39 is con-
nected to the LINE OUT FRONT jacks of the
CDX-A10
or CDX-J10,
there will be no sur-
round effect.
If the LINE
IN jacks of the XA-39 is con-
nected to the LINE OUT REAR jacks of the
CDX-A10
or CDX-J10,
the surround
effect
will be activated for both the front and rear
speakers,
