after-sales questions or help in ordering products, please contact our company. II. Description This instrument is mainly suitable for determining the softening point of road petroleum asphalt, polymer modified asphalt, and also suitable for determining the softening point of liquefied petroleum asphalt, coal tar pitch distillation residue or emulsified asphalt evaporation residue.
  • Page 5 Place the asphalt sample in a metal ring of specified size, and place a steel ball of specified size and quality on top. Put it in water or glycerin, and heat it at a specified rate by advanced technologies such as color touch LCD screen and laser detection. When the sample is soft enough to make the steel ball wrapped in asphalt fall for a specified distance, the temperature at this time is automatically detected and recorded as the softening point of the asphalt.

the heating process. 9. It can be applied to the softening point detection of low temperature section and high temperature section at the same time. VI. Preparation and installation 1. After unpacking the instrument, check whether the instrument is damaged, whether the switches are in good condition, whether the screws are loose, and check whether the accessories are complete according to the packing list.
  • Page 8 2. Selection of Heating Medium If the softening point of the sample is below 80°C, use boiled and cooled distilled or purified water, and the initial heating temperature should be 5±0.5°C. For samples whose softening point is higher than 80°C, use glycerin, the initial heating temperature should be 32±1°C, and the liquid level should be slightly lower than the depth mark on the vertical rod.
