BASIC NOISE SUPPRETION METHODS
Proper grounding is one of the most important
items.
The contact of the tapping screws only is not
sufficient.
Remove
the
paint
under
the
holder
of the
capacitor and apply contact grease. The noise
suppression can then be performed as follows:
1. Ignition Coil (Fig. 3)
The ignition coil has to be provided with a 2.2uF
parallel
capacitor
at the terminal
(+). If the
ignition coil is attached to the car body (e.g.
cowling), the capacitor has to be connected to
the engine block by means of a short grounding
band.
2. Alternator (Fig. 4)
Connect
a
2.2uF
parallel
capacitor
to
the
terminal
"B+".
The
attachment
lug
of
the
capacitor
should
be
connected
with
the
alternator case.
3. Engine Hood (Fig. 5)
A grounding band has to be connected between
the engine hood and the car body. Remove the
paint under the gounding band completely. The
grounding
band
is used to avoid interferences
(engine
noise)
that are transferred
from
the
engine compartment
via the antenna
into the
radio.
4. Distributor (Fig. 6)
Put a noise-suppression
resistor
(1 to 10kQ)
between the center jack of the distributor
and its
plug.
If the above basic noise suppression methods are
performed
correctly,
but still interferences
are
audible,
please
contact
your
nearest
service
station.
