Error messages on the display
If the unit detects a problem, one of the following messages will appear on the display.
ERROR MESSAGE CAUSE AND REMEDY
e Battery power is low. Replace the batteries with new ones (see
page 10).
BATTERY LOW
e ver i n. Close it.
CHECK COVER
The top cover is open. C
eThe document is not fed into the unit properly. Re-insert the document.
If the misfeeding occurs frequently, clean the document feeder rollers
inside the unit (see page 73). Still it remains unsolved, adjust the
feeder pressure (see page 72).
CHECK DOCUMENT
eMemory (phone numbers, parameters, etc.) has been erased.
ipi idis Re-program them.
e Mechanical error occurred. Open the cover and re-install the recording
Beare paper. Then press the STOP button and close the cover.
GEGEN BULL @There is no room left in memory to record a message. Erase some or
all messages (see page 29).
eThe greeting message for the ANS/FAX mode has not been recorded.
ROUEN UNUS Record the greeting message (see page 13).
NO RESPONSE eThe receiving unit is busy or out of recording paper. Try again.
eThe greeting message for the TEL/FAX mode has not been recorded.
Record the greeting message (see page 13).
NO TEL GREETING
POLLING ERROR party.
eThe document is jammed. Open the cover, remove the jammed
document (see page 72) and try again.
e Attempted to transmit a document longer than 600 mm (235/8"). Press
the STOP button and remove the document (see page 72).
When sending such a document, divide it into two or more sheets so
that each sheet does not exceed 600 mm (235") and try again.
