7. Operating the B 26 FM tuner
[13] POWER
Switch the system on or to standby
mode
[14] MENU - DISPLAY
for RDS stations: Brief display of the
station number and the FM frequency.
After approx. 3 seconds the station
name is again displayed.

The station number (1 to 35) and FM
_ frequency are displayed: «02 102.80».
For RDS
stations the name

Note concerning RDS: The B 26 FM tuner is able to
decode the Radio Data System (RDS) information of an
FM station and to display its name (max. 8 characters).

PROGRAM mode
In tuner PROGRAM mode you can assign the desired
radio broadcasting frequencies to the 35 station memo-
ries. The AUTOMEM function searches for signals of
adequate strength and stores these consecutively. Sta-
tions can also be deleted, added, and the frequencies
corrected manually.
Activating the PROGRAM mode

Press the MENU « DISPLAY [14] key for approx-
imately 1 second.
The display shows: < MENU >

With the <,> [16] keys you can now select the
following functions:
MANUAL:
Manual frequency selection
AUTOMEM:
Automatic station search and stor-
age
DELETE:
Delete station
QUIT:
Terminate
the PROGRAM
mode
without storing the changes.
The individual functions are selected wit the MENU
-
DISPLAY [14] key.

Activate the PROGRAM mode.

With the <, >[16] keys, switch over the display until
the «MANUAL» function is displayed.

Initiate the function by pressing the MENU « DIS-
PLAY [14] key.

The frequency in MHz as well as the signal strength
of the current station are displayed: « 102.55 |: »

Select the desired frequency by pressing < , > [16].
Brief key-stroke: 50 kHz steps up/down.
Longer key-stroke: Search up/down.
The signal strength indication « |s » is simply an aid to
find the optimum setting for a station.

When you have decided on a frequency, press the
MENU - DISPLAY [14] key.

Selectthe reception mode «STEREO», «BLEND» or
«MONO» with < , > keys [16].
«BLEND»
reduces the noise
of weak
stations,
whereas «MONO»
switches the station to mono
mode which also reduces the noise if the stereo
quality is poor.
«
With the < , > [16] keys you can toggle between
«STORE», «NEW», «INSERT», «OUT».
STORE: The previously made changes are Stored.
Caution! The station memory selected before the
PROGRAM mode was activated will be overwritten.
