1.
Secure the workpiece
with clamps or other means to keep it from moving
while sanding.
2.
Do not force the tool. Excessive pressure will overload the motor, causing
possible damage from motor overheating,
and can result in inferior work.
3.
Do not allow sanding on one spot too long, as the sander's rapid action may
remove too much material and make the surface uneven.
4.
Hold the sander with both
hands firmly on the
handles (Fig. 7).
5.
Start the sander while it
is off the work surface to
avoid gouging.
6.
Gradually lower the sander
onto the workpiece
with a
slight forward movement.
Move it slowly, using forward
and backward strokes.

When you stop, lift the sander
from the surface before stopping the tool.
NOTICE:
Never start or stop the sander with the sanding belt in contact with the
work surface.
