To stop recording
Press @ on deck B or the CD player.
Notes
¢ Tape select edit does not work when you
want to record CD which has more than
20 tracks.
Be sure to release program or you cannot
set tape select edit.
When you record from a CD without space
between tracks
Record on manual recording (see
"Recording a CD Manually"). When you
use the CD SYNCHRO button, the recorded
tape has three-second blanks between the
tracks automatically.
Recording a CD:
Specifying Tape
Length (time edit/just
edit)
You can have the stereo system create
programs based on the tape length.
The CD player makes programs that will fit
the tape length. For example, if you use a
40-minute tape to record a 46-minute CD,
the CD player will automatically choose
tracks that will fit within the 40-minutes,
filling as much of the tape as possible. The
player will not program those tracks
beyond track number 20. Use the buttons
on the unit to do this operation.

1 Press & OPEN/CLOSE and place a CD.
Then, press 2 OPEN/CLOSE again to
close the CD tray.
The total number of tracks, the total
playing time appear in the display.
2 Press & and insert a blank tape into
deck B.
Make sure the tabs on the cassette have
not been removed.
3 select dual or single-sided recording.
To record

* Recording always stops at the end of the
reverse side. Be sure to start from the
front side.
4 when you want to reduce the hiss noise
in low-level high-frequency signals, set
DOLBY NR to ON.
5 choose how you want the tracks to be
recorded.
"A" and counter flash in the display.
To fit as many tracks on the tape as
possible with changing the original CD
order as little as possible (time edit)
Press EDIT twice.
"EDIT" appears in the display.
To fit as many tracks on the tape as
possible by letting the CD piayer change
the original CD order (just edit)
Press EDIT three times.
"JUST EDIT" appears in the display.
6 Press KKK or PDI to designate the tape
length.
Choose the indication for tapes of a
corresponding minute length.
As you press the button, the indication
changes as follows:

7 Press EDIT.
The CD player determines the tracks to
be recorded on side A automatically and
"B" flashes in the display.

8 When you want to record on both sides,
press EDIT again.
The CD player determines the tracks to
be recorded on side B.
9 Press CD SYNCHRO.
Deck B stands by for recording.
The C
(for front side) or <J (for
reverse side) lamp lights steadily and
shows you which side will start
recording.
The other lamp flashes for a
few seconds, then disappears.

start recording does not light, press >>
or <J to light the side you want to start
recording . If it lights, skip to step 11.
1 1 Press 00 PAUSE on the tape player to
release a recording pause.
Recording starts.
The CD starts playing.
To stop recording
Press @ on deck B or the CD player.
To select the desired tracks
beforehand
You can place priority on some tracks to be
recorded by selecting them before
programming (only up to 20 tracks). See
"Playing Tracks in the Desired Order
(program play)".
To check the order
Press CHECK repeatedly.
Each time you press CHECK, the number
of the programmed tracks appear in the
display.
To cancel time edit/just edit
Before you press EDIT on step 7, press & to
cancel. After you pressed EDIT on step 7,
press CONTINUE.
