Voltage and polarity: The set must be connected to a 12 V car battery with negative
terminal to earth (car chassis).
*Remove the 'Security Card' before installing the set.
Warning; To prevent short-circuiting, disconnect the negative car battery terminal until
the set has been mounted and connected.
@ INSTALLING METAL SLEEVE
* Install the metal sleeve in the dashboard (Fig. 1).
* Fix metal sleeve into place by pressing the metal tags outwards using a screwdriver.
j= POWER SUPPLY AND LOUDSPEAKER CONNECTIONS (Fig. 2)
If your car is equipped with ISO car radio connectors, simply insert them in connectors
A and B of the car radio. If not, you can use an adaptor cable (see list on page 4).
Connection details
Power supply (connector A)
Red "+12 V SW." [A7]: Connect to a switched 12 V supply (switched on/off * car
ignition).
* Yellow/red "+12 V PERM." [A4]: Connect to a permanent 12 V supply. This supply is
needed
for the set's memory. It also ensures that a CD changer functions correctly.
¢ Brown "GROUND" [A8}: Connect to earth (car chassis).

use 4 ohm loudspeakers)
- Do not connect any of the loudspeaker leads to earth or directly to a booster/ amplifier.

@ OTHER CONNECTIONS
¢ Automatic Aerial (optional: connection): This radio can provide a 12 V signal isk the control
of an automatic motor aerial or the supply of an electronic aerial. Do not use this connection
for the supply lead of the aerial motor!
* Insert the square pin of the blue "AUTO AERIAL! lead into hole 4 of the 10-pin connector E
(Fig. 3)".
¢ Insert the fat pin from the other end of the lead 'into hole [A5] of the power supply connector A (Fig. 3}.
¢ CD changer: You can connect a CD changer (D2B type) io this set (see the mounting
instructions
for the CD changer). Insert the plug from the CD changer into connector C.
